DEKALB Corn Seed Brand and NASCAR Driver Clint Bowyer Premiere the DEKALB Brand No.14 Ford Fusion Car at Kansas Speedway
St. Louis, October 24, 2018 The No. 14 DEKALB® brand Ford Fusion racecar had its debut run during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race weekend Oct. 19-21 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer officially hit the track with the new DEKALB brand car earning the 13th spot.
DEKALB served as the primary sponsor for Bowyer and the No. 14 team for the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. The partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), the championship-winning NASCAR team, was officially announced in late August on the opening day of the Farm Progress® Show by unveiling the new car inside the DEKALB® Asgrow® “Fuel Your Yield” tent.
During the show, the DEKALB Asgrow brands also kicked off their annual “My Farm My Yield” harvest contest giving farmers the opportunity to share their DEKALB and Asgrow performance stories and a chance to win the grand prize custom-wrapped 2018 Kawasaki MULE PRO-FXRTM – with matching paint scheme of the No. 14 DEKALB brand car. Farmers can enter online at DEKALBAsgrow.com/racing or socially post on Facebook and Twitter using #MyFarmMyYield and #Contest. The entry deadline is 5 p.m. CT Nov. 18, 2018.
“It’s great to have Clint represent DEKALB performance at his home track driving the DEKALB brand car for the first time,” said Pete Uitenbroek, DEKALB Asgrow Brand Lead. “Farming and racing have many parallels that present a natural connection between Clint and DEKALB. Both require top performance and a team of experts standing behind you, whether that’s a pit crew or agronomic experts. With his rural Kansas roots, and dedication to farming his land, Clint is the ideal person to help tell that story.”
DEKALB has been helping farmers ensure a future of performance with industry-leading corn seed products for more than 100 years. And while driving a racecar that puts out more than 850 horsepower is his day job, Bowyer also oversees his 650-acre farm in North Carolina and understands the need for high-performing products and a team of experts.
“Racing the No. 14 DEKALB brand Ford Fusion on the track for the first time was a lot of fun,” said Bowyer who grew up in farm country and saw firsthand the hard work that goes into growing crops and taking care of livestock. “I have a lot of respect for farmers and the time, energy and incredible attention to detail farming takes. DEKALB understands all of that, and they know what farmers need. It’s really is an honor to represent DEKALB.”
