Leverkusen (October 29, 2018) - The DEKALB® and Asgrow® brands are offering a robust lineup of new products for 2019 that feature 100 percent exclusive genetics with advanced agronomic traits to promote high-yield potential for farmers.
DEKALB is introducing 30 new corn products nationally next season. “These products have been tested extensively under local conditions, demonstrating consistent performance, including uniform emergence, strong roots and stalks, and excellent plant health,” said Jared Webb, DEKALB Product Manager.
Included are five new DEKALB® Disease ShieldTM corn products, which combine high-yield potential with advanced protection against the top five yield-robbing corn diseases – anthracnose stalk rot, Goss’s wilt, gray leaf spot, northern corn leaf blight and, in limited geographies, southern rust. “Farmers are seeing the difference DEKALB Disease Shield makes with more plant staygreen and late-season plant health, which contribute to higher yield potential and improved late-season standability and harvestability,” Webb said.
Thirty-four new Asgrow® Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® soybean products are being introduced nationally for 2019. Tyler Uhe, Asgrow Product Manager, said this new class has shown an average yield advantage of nearly 2.7 bushels per acre over competitor products. “These new products provide improved standability as well as enhanced white mold and IDC tolerance with higher yield potential,” he said.
Uhe added that farmers have experienced very effective weed control using the Roundup Ready® Xtend Crop System with Asgrow Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans. “Ninety-seven percent of farmers nationally say they are satisfied with the control they experienced with the Roundup Ready Xtend Crop System. We’ve made a lot of progress this season and heard very positive farmer feedback.”
