The first two numbers in our cotton naming system signify the year of commercialization, and the second two numbers indicate maturity based on the following scale:

10-19 = Early; 20-29 = Early-mid; 30-39 = Mid; 40-49 = Mid-full; 50-59 = Full

1 = Tight, stripper-like boll; 9 = Loose boll
